Insurance Fit Check

Six questions about your household. Your figure builds as you answer, and at the end every peso of it is shown with its working.

About two minutes. No email asked. Your answers stay in this browser tab and are gone when you close it.

Who would feel it financially if your income stopped?

This sets how much of your income a policy has to reproduce.

Groceries, tuition, rent, allowances. A rough monthly figure is fine, and zero is a valid answer.

For how long would that need to continue?

Until the youngest finishes school, until a partner retires: your call. The last option counts as twenty-five years exactly.

Is there anything owed that wouldn’t disappear?

Housing or motorcycle amortisation, personal and business loans, card balances.

This drives the illness and disability figures, which are worked out from income rather than from who depends on you. It never leaves your browser.

Two last things.

Children you’d want to see through school, and your age. Four or more children counts as four. Age changes only the advice on your result, not the figure.

How the figure is worked out

Life cover is sized from what you give. Illness and disability are sized from what you earn, because a diagnosis stops the income while the bills go up.

The components of the figure and how each is calculated
ComponentArithmeticLimits
Income supportmonthly × 12 × years × your share—
Debts outstandingthe balance, as you enter it—
Immediate billsfuneral, estate, first months₱500,000
Life coverthe three above, roundedat least ₱1,000,000
Education fundchildren × ₱1,500,000up to 4 children
Critical illnessmonthly income × 24₱1M to ₱10M
Disabilitymonthly income × 12 × 5up to ₱15M

Your share is 1.00 if you are the main earner, 0.60 if you share it, 0.35 if you help out, and 0 if nobody depends on you. These are planning conventions, not laws: argue with any of them, in a conversation or with the free guide.
